Every year at the end of August I’m like, wow WHY the HELL does Summer have to end?!? It always goes by in the blink of an eye!! Then, every year I remember how freaking lucky we are to have a fall. This year has been nothing short of a beautiful one up here in Western New York. From football to pumpkins to beautiful colors on the trees and ideal temperatures, what a blast the last month/month and a half have been. I owe most of that fun to my GIRLS. They are beautiful, adventurous, talented and together we’ve tried to do all the fall things– and we aren’t done yet. That being said, I realized that we excel particularly well in one particular area: Sunday Funday. So, we’re giving you the exact recipe. Everything you need. Step by step on how to make a Sunday Funday, for the girls specifically, happen. Without further ado, I give you:

The Theme

Back in September, when going on the water, or laying out by the pool was no longer an option we knew it was time to shift gears to the season that renders itself IDEAL for groups of girls. We started coming up with a list of all the things you can do in these precious, perfect few months of pumpkin-spice heaven. I listed most of these in the introductory post, Falling for Fall – A Series. For our Sunday Funday Brunch For The Girls, we chose to center it around being a “Bougie Game-Day Brunch”. Bougie, because, well we are girls, we look for a reason to dress cute, spoil ourselves with yummy food and all the mimosas. Game Day because there’s so much more energy being out and about on a football Sunday. Together, they set the scene for a fun, energetic, happy day for Brunchin’.

The Pre-Game

Like I mentioned before, to make this not just any old Sunday Funday, but a Sunday Funday Brunch For The Girls, you should make a few moves. Start at someone’s house and get the excitement up! We started at my girlfriend Sam’s, who has the most beautiful house, perfect for all of us girls to gather on the back patio, share apple cider mimosas, donuts and laughs. It just sets the tone for the rest of the day.

Bougie Brunchin’

When it comes to the main event, make it over the top. What I mean by that is make sure you are prepared and have also prepped the restaurant. We chose The Revelry in Rochester (NY) because not only is it beautiful, delicious, and they have amazing staff, but they also had a separate area/room that we got to be extra bougie in (ridiculous but amazing I know). With a mimosa bar and a stunning tablescape, it just feels more special than “hey, let’s go to brunch.” It feels like you’re attending something, an event of some sort– and you are! Sometimes, you just have to create the fun yourself, you know?!

Post-Brunch Party

Finally, end the day by going to some fun bars, meeting up with other friends or, like us, take over the bar of the restaurant and having a dance party…oops. It was a BLAST. Seriously so much fun. Pro Tip: Choose somewhere somewhat rowdy and energetic for brunch so that it can transition after. If you keep the party going for a little after you’ll be able to gear up for your next move without losing your buzz!
